Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe is set to make his first appearance in England colours on Wednesday, having been called to the Under-18 national team by coach Noel Blake.

Ibe, just 16, was signed by Liverpool at the start of the year after impressing for Wycombe Wanderers in League One at the start of the 2011-12 season aged just 15 – becoming the youngest scorer in the club’s history in the process.

After just seven months at the Anfield club, Ibe’s career continued its remarkable progress when he was invited by new manager Brendan Rodgers to join the first-team on tour in North America, where he was joined by fellow teenagers Raheem Sterling, Andre Wisdom and Suso – all of whom have since gone on to first-team football.

Since the summer, Ibe has featured for the Reds in the Under-21 Premier League, as well as for the Under-19 side in the NextGen Series.
