He has been heavily linked to the likes of Manchester United in recent times, but it appears that Colombia starlet Juan Fernando Quintero is set to sign for FC Porto following the completion of the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
Reports in both Colombia and Portugal suggest that Quintero, 20, will become the latest Cafeteros star to arrive at the Dragão, with a €10 million fee having been agreed with owners Pescara for his signature.
The attacking midfielder made 17 Serie A appearances in the 2012-13 season, scoring once, and will hope to build on that positive start to his career in Portugal next campaign.
Alongside international colleague Jackson Martinez, he should be afforded enough playing time to impress and, hopefully, to make a challenge for a place at the 2014 World Cup.
For the moment, though, his focus will be on the ongoing youth tournament in Turkey. Colombia downed El Salvador 3-0 on Friday night to ensure progression to the Last 16, with Quintero adding his second goal in three appearances at the tournament.
In the next stage of the competition they will now meet South Korea on July 3, with the Asian side qualifying as one of the lucky 3rd place finishers from the group stages.
