The Elastico was founded in February 2011 and is the web’s home for the most in-depth coverage of the rising talent in football. With popular features like Next Wave, Hall of Fame, and Team Breakdown, we look at the past, present, and future of the sport. Although a slight bias towards Brazilian football exists, we have a global network of scouts and experts to provide uncompromised coverage.

Our team has written for the likes of ESPN Soccernet, Sky Sports, Goal.com, In Bed With Maradona, FourFourTwo, and many other popular and respected football websites. Since commencing operations, our articles have been featured by The Guardian and Zonal Marking’s Michael Cox, ESPN Brazil’s Leonardo Bertozzi, and TV Globo’s Jon Cotterill, amongst thousands of other fans. We strive to continue offering quality, global, and original content about the beautiful game.

Timeline

February 2011		The Elastico brand is born as Rio Coimbra begins tweeting to the world under @the_elastico.
March 2011		After twitter account gains quick support, www.theelastico.com is launched to provide more in-depth coverage of the beautiful game.
June 2011		The Elastico merges with popular blog Euro Football Zone, as Christopher Atkins becomes co-editor. The Elastico brand is kept, with EFZ’s talented staff and archives folded into a single website.
December 2011		The Elastico version 2.0 launches. A website redesign is accompanied by a change in focus towards in-depth player and team features.
